Q&A: Why didn’t my hair dye jet black?

Question by :O: Why didn’t my hair dye jet black?
I’ve attempted to do this twice the past two years.

-no product in hair
-didn’t shampoo before
-Feria brand (bright black)
-natural hair color : soft black
-have dyed it jet black before, worked
-left it in for 30 minutes (5+ the looked-for time)

What do you reckon? Is it the brand? I don’t reckon it is because it worked in the past, and works on other people, unlike some Revlon dyes that don’t work on anyone -____-
Also, maybe I should have questioned, if it is the brand, what brand do you recommend?

I have highlighted hair and I want to know the extent of any “hurt” to highlights with use of the black hair dye.
I’ve used every other color but it hasn’t done anything to my highlights yet… I just want to know who has used more than one color pulse plus the black and if here has been any extent of hurt to them with the black.

it can turn the highlights really weird colors, like purple or green or blue; depending on what tint is in the black. you never really know. i wouldn’t use black hair dye on highlights. just air on the side of caution and visit a professional hairdresser. they will be able to tell you what to do.

here are so many more hair color selections at beauty supply stores that are intended for black women, but i wonder if anyone knows whether it would work on thin hair or if it would hurt it?
i used an olive oil spray and hair treatment that made my hair solid like a rock and ultimately became very hurt :/
but i wonder if the hair dye would be any different?
really? even shampoo bottles read “for normal hair”.
african american hair differs from the rest of ours.. theirs has a unique feel and requires evident care

Why is life so dull? Why can’t I just die and go straight to my pleased place…? I no why! My bloody parents wouldn’t ‘allow’ it.. I mean who needs to question permission for suicide? A poor crazed lonely girl with potatoes for parents…. That’s me.

I’m sitting in my room once more, on the computer surfing the web for something worth looking at, I have found my Ipod, and have place it on full blast to drone out the voices of tom and jerry (aka sister and mum) its not working, im telling you, my mum has had speaker phones shoved down that throat..bloody hell…
its only eight, so I have to place up with the bonker notes popping up on my screen for atleast an hour… why hasent jess called?? Whats incorrect with that girl? Has she over and done where the phone is again? Or maybe she found a beauty spot thinking it was a black head…
“laura! Laura get down here! your bloody dogs trying to get threw the window again! Please…. LAURA!
“IM COMING MUM!!! Gees she does realize I can only carry my legs so quick…
“Oh come off it, its only the window.. You’ll loose brain cells if you keep doing that crumpet…”
That’s when my darling sister Jose broke in“ she needs to have a brain to loose his brain cells..”
“ and what’s that held to mean?” I answered. Knowing where the conversation was chief…
“ alls im saying laura is that crumpet needs a brain, but she has probably ate it, like all else around here so….”
“ leave of it, crumpets brain is 10 times the size of yours, I mean atleast she can recognise real food, unlike some, thinking the plastic food on my project for health, was a real bar of chocolate…”

“oh here they go again, come on crumpy, lets escape before planet war three starts..”
crumpet was still intranced with the window, but unwillingly pulled her torso in my management, following me up the stairs.

As crumpet and I entered my room, the phone rang giving me a jump and making crumpet turn her head in a sort of 90 degree angle.

I ran over to the phone on the third ring, not even caring who would answer… it was jess my by all accounts best supporter that once again rang 3 hours late…
“Laura? Is that you?”
“no its banana in pyjamas, yeah course jess, but is this you? I mean common 3 hours late…where the heck were you?”
“Wretched Laura its just.. Well…”
“What?
“Well…”
Jess what is it? Common tell me, I am your best supporter and you are still reluctant to tell me what you have done for the last..” she cut me off
“I was checking out the new guy.. well guys really but I only saw one…”
“here are new guys in town? Wait. Your telling me for 3 hours you were checking out the…new guy?
“well…yes. Its just well his just soo…out of this planet…”
“really..”
“no really Laura! His the best thing I have ever seen walk in this town… and his a twin! A twin laura…”
“ oh man. This is terrible…look jess its nice to know your pleased but common… 3 hours…and you didn’t find out anything bout the boy.. he could be a dumb, unhighjenic foul..”
“ but he isent.. I didn’t just stare.. I well… he helps his dad in the shop… they both do, the twins.. and well my mum questioned me to go down and buy her that bloody mag for granies.. and then.. I saw the new shop… Thought I would check it out.. and then boom, I nearly walked into the shelf outfront…”
“what store are you discussion about?”
“ the new book store, its next to the groucers.. anyway his name is Aiden, and his drop dead gorgeous!!! I couldent believe it….”
“ details jess…”
“okay he had like a light brown type of hair,with the most gorgeous green eyes… and man his soo muscular… his a real hunk… anyway his in the 9th year!!! Only a year above us!!! Oh my god!!!! Cant wait to tell the others oooooooohhh!!!
“ that’s real excellent jess, but he probably goes to a different teach and..” she cut me again
“Nope. His coming to benelly high! Can you believe it? Its soo magical…”
magical? Out of this planet? I don’t get it why is it always soo mushy when a hot guy pops up in her face…she hasn’t even dated…
“ well ill let you go.. ive got to tell the others.. wretched laura !!! bye..”
the phone hung up before I could open my mouth. Jess was gone and I once again was left in the sorrow excuse for a home, the only excellent thing was having crumpet here. Im sure without her, I would have be converted into emo or something…

I can”t see the image,but i can still help.My freind recently bought a lace wig. she had it place on and paid the lady and went home. I suggested to her to personalize the lace wig to her personality. Since she paid $ 300 buck i told her to go to Super Cutters fortwo reasons. They specialize in that type of hair & it is cheap! She told the lady what she wanted gave he a quick was (standard) and blow dried her hair. Atfer the stylist and my supporter got to see how the hair would realy fall after a wash. The stylist cut her hair and now she looks like a million bucks!

they have to bleaach your hair AGAIN and then the desired color. and same for the extensions unless you want to buy new ones

Okay, so my first question is about my hair color.

1. Ok, so I have natural medium, darkish-brown hair. I dyed my hair a soft black (Revlon soft black #11) Yes, I know the color is a permanent hair dye. But I can already see my color coming back in, there coming back in like highlights, so technically they look like my natural hair color just in highlights. I dyed my hair color this color on January 1st. I’d like to know how much longer its gonna take to get my natural color back? My hair is about a 1/2 inch to 1 inch under my shoulder, if that helps.

My second question relates to the first one.

2. Well I’m trying to grow my hair out so I am taking prenatal vitamins, I am NOT pregnant, as I said before I want my hair to grow. I want to know how long its gonna take to get my hair to the middle of my boobs? I mentioned the length of my hair in the first question, i’d like it if you could leave like a chart, (Example chart below.) && I’d like to know if my color will come in faster, with my hair growing?

1-2 inches in 2 months.
3-4 inches in 4 months.

^ something like that, remember that is a example chart. Please give me one with REAL answers.

Prenatal vitamins aren’t going to make your hair grow any nearer. The reason pregnant women’s hair grows so quick is because of the hormones. Your hair grows about a half an inch a month. So if you’re looking for four inches it’s going to take about eight months. It’s a wait. As far as how long it’ll take the color to fade out, you’re in for a wait. It can take a year, it may never fade out completely. My suggestion is initiation doing scalp massages and taking vitamins formulated for hair.

i have naturally dark brown nearly black hair, i want to dye it a medium/dark ash blonde something like this.

My hair isnt dyed black its natural. iv tried dyeing my black hair lighter couple years ago but it turns out to be brassy and orange looking, iv used golden browns and light blondes on my hair but it starts to have orange undertone to it. i want a ASHY tone. iv gone to professionals too but again it turns out to have orange tones. what would be the best way to realize the hair color on black hair at home perhaps without having to use hair bleach?
PLEASE HELP!

Without bleaching it first, it will just turn out orange.

I reckon she’s older than me and I reckon she has a boyfriend.
I wear long hair (shoulder growing to above shoulder blades) but I have natural brown hair and i don’t wear makeup. I do wear a lot of black t-shirts though but with blue jeans. (I’m the t-shirt and jeans kind of guy) Should I do something about this? Or leave it alone?

I’m looking for fun, bright and colorful human hair wigs.
I’m a teen…so I don’t want an ancient lady wig. Or any dull ones.
I’ve checked ebay..nope.
My preferences: Longer, funky colors or black/white (or blonde), and REAL hair. I can’t do phony.
Please help me out!
